Paragon Software Solutions, a Microsoft® Partner, upgraded the Microsoft Dynamics® GP financial system of Sterling Corporation, one of North American Van Lines’ largest agents. Paragon, specializing in the development, training and support of complex accounting systems, has been providing technical accounting support for Sterling for more than three years.
“It was necessary for us to upgrade our Dynamics GP system to version 2010 in order to continue receiving the latest tax table updates for the payroll module,” commented Jim Robinson, Assistant Controller/ Dynamics GP System Administrator for Sterling Corporation.
In addition to running internal payroll for approximately 100 employees and ACH payments for 50 contractors on a bi-weekly basis, Sterling uses Dynamics GP for all its accounting needs.
Robinson continued, “Paragon delivered a very detailed, comprehensive plan of attack that allowed the upgrade process to go very smoothly. To our accounting users, it was an uninterrupted, seamless process.”
Sterling Corp is also in the midst of a two year project, transitioning to a new customized front-end operating system. There was much concern on the part of management regarding the GP upgrade as a possible disruption to that implementation and all of its new associated integrations. Paragon worked with the outside company’s IT consultants from beginning to end to ensure a smooth transition. Paragon specializes in integrating Microsoft Dynamics GP with various environments, operating systems and products, including custom applications.
With 25 years of experience, Paragon delivers prompt and reliable technical support and financial management system upgrades, including remote and “after-hours” conversions that generally take place over a weekend for very minimal or no interruption to the client’s day-to-day operations. These types of upgrades also generally take less time than on-site installs and cost less.
As one of North American Van Lines’ largest and most respected agents, Sterling Corporation has been providing professional relocation solutions for residents and businesses in the Northeast since 1950. Facilities are located in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. For more information, visit: http://www.sterlingmoving.com/.
